If you're like me and love Memphis food truck food but never know where the heck they are or how to find them, then you are in luck! I have created a list of the Twitter feed (for those I could find on Twitter) so that I can easily access the whereabouts and head to the nearest truck for a scrumptious lunch. Click here for the list. Summer 2014 Food Truck Events:

In a Reader’s Choice contest by USA Today’s 10Best Contest, the Memphis Zoo was voted No. 4 in the list of the ten best zoos in the U.S.
Toledo Zoo received the No. 1 ranking, and the Memphis Zoo is happy to congratulate them on this recognition. “What a great day for zoos all over the country,” said Abbey Dane, Memphis Zoo Director of Marketing and Communications. “We couldn’t be more excited about the award, and the mission of zoos all over the U.S. will benefit from this recognition. We are so proud of zoo fans everywhere for getting out there and voting.” With the award, the Memphis Zoo ranked higher than much larger zoos in larger metropolitan areas such as San Diego Zoo, Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Columbus Zoo. The site conducts periodic Top 10 lists and received an unprecedented number of votes during the 10Best Zoos contests. The site reported that the results far exceeded any response they have seen during any previous contests. The USA Today 10Best organization covers 236 major metropolitan areas worldwide, offering travel tips and ideas, along with periodic top ten lists. Full contest results are available at www.10best.com/awards/travel/best-us-zoo/. I had a fun day at this year's Memphis Farmers Market opening day with Barrett and we ended up with our photo in 4Memphis Magazine's May issue. Thanks Mark Ramirez! Anna Mullins, Executive Director of The Cotton Museum in Memphis as well as well-known writer/editor, has launched a digital publication via weekly subscription email and website, High Ground News. High Ground News maintains that micro-investments add up to large scale impacts and are happening all around our city. From innovation and education to sustainability and neighborhood development, Mullins allows us all a chance to "meet the people making Memphis work" in this mission-driven publication. Excerpt from Anna Mullins' Letter from the Editor: What’s in a name, anyway? It turns out, a lot. Perhaps because it’s one of the very first steps in creation, imparting a title carries quite a bit of weight. Tasked with helping to create a new online magazine in Memphis, I wanted a name that would feel entirely local without being recycled, aspirational without being hackneyed. I began soliciting ideas from friends, coworkers, strangers on the street. The bar seemed to be set out of reach until the idea of “High Ground” appeared in my inbox. High Ground is not just our name; it’s our mission statement. We are bringing you alternative news on moving the city forward, emerging solutions to our urban problems, and the bright spots of creativity and development. We’re taking the higher ground in journalism and creating new narratives that document the transformation and growth on the Bluff. And we can tell you, there’s a better view from the top.
