Kristen Waddell has nearly 20 years experience in business with a concentration in development/implementation of strategic marketing campaigns. Kristen has a comprehensive understanding of client needs, expectations and what organizational skills must be applied to each project in keeping with the company’s key messaging and branding. As principal of Kristen Waddell Consulting, Kristen is responsible for account management in public relations, marketing, social media, direct mail, advertising, web development and special events.
Kristen currently consults with several Memphis area businesses, is a member of Memphis Rotary Club and is an Associate Manager with Scout and Cellar. Kristen has worked as Social Media Director for Memphis Health and Fitness Magazine, Interim Editor at VIP Memphis Magazine (now 4Memphis Magazine) and as a contributing writer for At Home Memphis and MidSouth, Health and Fitness, Memphis Moms Blog, StyleBlueprint and Good Health, specializing in fashion, culinary, entertainment and society.
Kristen was Board President of the Commission on Missing and Exploited Children (COMEC), has served on the Board of Directors of Volunteer MidSouth (now Volunteer Memphis), the marketing committee for Leadership Memphis, the Board of Directors of Turkey Trotters and the Advisory Board of Memphis Youth Coalition. Kristen is a past member of Le Bonheur Club, Public Relations Society of America, ArtsMemphis' BRAVO and Impact Memphis. She completed Leadership Memphis' Fast Track program in Spring 2008.
Notable projects include Communication Director for Vintage901, marketing advisor for Wundher, Race Director for Legal Legs for Justice 5K, PR Director for Race for Grace, organizer for Opera in the Park, Germantown Charity Horse Show Juleps in June and Dress for Success Little Black Dress, marketing consultant for Female Warriors: Armed & Delicious, whose proceeds benefit the Women's Foundation for a Greater Memphis (WFGM) and has volunteered for Dress for Success Memphis, Memphis Fashion Week and the Pink Palace.
Previously, Kristen was Senior Associate at Howell Marketing Strategies, managing the staff and client workload. Prior to her agency position, Kristen managed the Event Invitation and Volunteer Recruitment programs in the Membership Marketing Department at Ducks Unlimited National Headquarters, was a financial/account manager at Lawrence & Russell, PLC and Teacher/Counselor at Youth Villages' Dogwood Village campus.
Kristen received her B.A. from the University of Arkansas in 2002 with a double major in Sociology and Criminal Justice.
Kristen has been married to her husband, Blake, since September 2009 and they have two children, Barrett and Elizabeth Ann. They reside in Germantown and are partners at Highpoint Church, attending its Collierville campus. Kristen serves as the Publicity Chair on the PTO Board for Dogwood Elementary School.
